What Was She Wearing?

You were DYING to see my red pants I wore on Vday right??!? Well here is what I wore:

Starting from the top left, going clockwise:

  • Houndstooth nail stickers with a red heart
  • Chucks (dirty ones) and uneven pant legs (stop judging)
  • Me trying to get the whole outfit, aka:Stink face
  • Wavy hair (a must)
  • A picture showing my colors and then showing you my toilet in the background. You're welcome.
  • Red earrings
  • RED PANTS
  • Polka dot scarf (borrowed from my sissy)

Did you all read my post from the 13th?? Cause stats is saying only my daddy did. I hope stats is a lying bastard.

Thanks for caring about what I wore yesterday!

Peace, love and STINK FACE!

I am my mother's daughter

I realized this year that I fricken love Valentines day. Not because of the whole being married thing, but I like making Valentines and stupid crap like that. I know, I am such a girl. I made Valentines for some (if you didn't get one, notice I said SOME, not ALL) of my favorite people. I WISH I took pictures of them but I forgot :( So if you are one of those special few, please take a pic and email it to me so I can blog about it. Thanks!

Not only do I love making homemade valentines, but I put on my black and white nail stickers and painted a red heart on my ring fingers. AND I plan on wearing my red pants to work. GET OUTTA HERE!- you say. No I will not! It's Valentines Day y'all!

And to top of my Valentines Day madness I wanted to make my coworkers (PS: my spellcheck just asked if I meant to write "cowpunchers", haha!) some sort of sweet treat. So here is a blog post about the awesome treats I made for my team at work.

When I was thinking about what to make them. I didn't want to do the normal cookies and cupcakes (cause I do that kinda often) so I thought hey! why not make candy molds like my mom used to do! So I went out and bought a few more molds and some chocolate and vanilla wafers. I am not all high tech when it comes to making molds so do judge my techniques (and this is going to be more of a "how I did it" instead of a "look what I did!" post):

Start off with whichever flavor you want and melt it in a bowl. Only heat it 30 seconds at a time in the microwave, stir and repeat until it is completely melted. Also, if you are adding food coloring, don't buy the gel food coloring. It makes your candy stick together and you cant pour it into the molds. So if you want a deep, rich color, just buy the pre-colored wafers (sold at places like Wal-Mart, Michaels and AC Moore)
Pour into the molds. Don't worry about it looking messy (like mine) because it dries and you can flick it off really easily before your next pour.

Once you pour it into the mold, put it in the freezer (just so they harden faster)

Here is a pink version of one of the above molds after is is hardened. So cute!

Here is the halfway point for me, hearts and suckers (I did  not show the sucker molds, sorry. Its the same thing only with sticks that you place in the mold BEFORE the chocolate)

Next I wanted to add chocolate covered pretzels. So I took an idea from Pintrest and modified it with what we had at home:

M&Ms

But you cant use all the colors! It's Valentines Day! So I segregated all the reds from the group

I had pretzels, M&Ms and chocolate AKA: CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS TOPPED WITH AN M&M

I am fully aware they look a little "Christmas-y" but I didn't have pink, okay?!? So I added silver sprinkles. Probably not the best idea.

Yes, I used chopsticks to hold the pretzels as I dipped them, then I placed them on wax paper, put an M &M on top and then sprinkles. Then, let them mo-fos dry!

Holy Cowpunchers! They turned out yummy, yes I would know.

So I took all the treats I made and created Valentine goodie bags for the ladies at my work.  They looked like-a-dis:

Happy Valentines Day! I wish I could send you all some of these yummy desserts! But alas, I cannot so make some yo-self! Love you!

Peace, love and RED PANTS!

My Saturday

Well, to be honest, my Saturday started out really sh**ty. I went to take an insurance exam and "failed" it by one question...again. Stop judging me! But its okay because we planned a fun day anyway so it got my mind off of it. Here are some pics of my day:

Sevvie was being cute/up to something so I snapped this shot. Luvs.

Then we went to the temple. Don't mind my stink face. What I like about this picture is that the temple is subtly in the background. I am learning how to do more things with my  camera. Finally.

 Here is Brando.

 It was raining

Then we ate in Bethesda, MD at this place called JALEO. They had small forks.
I believe he was saying "you are creepy, stop taking pictures"

Our yummy cheese spread.

How cool is this?!

We then went to the Kennedy Center to see  the NSO play Beethoven's Symphony No. 3

Some shots of the Kennedy Center lights

Even though the day started off rough, it got better. Oh and BTW, I have my plastic surgery blog all ready to post but I have been too scared to hit publish!!! But I will get a spine soon because I know you are all looking forward to it :)

Peace, love and aged cheese.
