Yes, I am talking about all the scary things that have happened this week. What's the worse you say? The 5.9 earthquake? Nope. That beeyotch Irene? Not at all. The huge praying mantis?!? Yup. You got it. We saw the BIGGEST praying mantis this week at Home Depot and it scared the bleep outta me! Why do people think those things are cute? Or harmless? Have you seen how they look at you?!?
Ahhhh!!!! Run away!!!
Ok, so I know we haven't gone through the worst of the hurricane but nothing has happened besides constant rain. We even went out to dinner tonight. Thats how NOT bad it is.
We will see what I will be saying tomorrow though :)
Oh and since you are reading this, you deserve a treat. Here is a completely idiotic statement I said today that I am only sharing with YOU! Enjoy.
(While talking about hurricane names with my sis-sis) "What's the name of the hurricane that hit Katrina?"
Seriously? I said that? Yes, yes I did. I blame it on the rain (sing Milli Vanilli)
And because I love you, here is another jem:
"If Brandon came up here and heard that we were listening to Creed, we would be dead".
Peace, love and uneventful hurricanes.

Empty Promises
Remember how I told you all I would finally blog about my amazing summer? Yeah. That hasn't happend and I fear it won't be for awhile. Which makes me sad because I want to share it so badly with you all!
Sorry but you will have to wait. Until then, take a gander at my schedule from yesterday:
Woke up
Worked on the house
Went to Red Lobster for lunch with sissy (that was part of my bday present)
Went shopping at a mall (and didn't get our butts slashed)
Got awesome clothes from H&M
Dyed hair
Cut hair
Watched HP on ABC Family
Went to bed
If this is what it is going to be like having Shilo around then my life is set.
Peace, love and box cutters.

My life sucks*
*Ok, my life really doesn't suck. Its actually pretty awesome and I am truly blessed. But let me vent mmkay?
Why my life sucks right now:
PS: Don't google "creepy cats" before bed. You will indeed have nightmares.
Why my life sucks right now:
- I live in a construction zone. We moved our boxes into the new (for us) house on Saturday morning, I had a baby shower that afternoon, we went to a concert that night, church the next day and work (almost) all week. That being said, the entire house is not unpacked yet and its driving me crazy! Those of you who know me well, know that I like being in a clean, clutter free environment. And our house currently is not.
- No one wants to see Harry Potter at midnight with me. AND Brandon is taking me on a trip tomorrow evening/Saturday morning so I wont be able to see until until Saturday evening at the EARLIEST. And a Saturday evening showing of the last Harry Potter on opening weekend?!! Craziness.
- We don't have a door to our bedroom yet, so every night the cats are running around (cause cats sleep all day in order to act nuts all night when you are trying to sleep. They totes do it on purpose) and waking me up. I have told them to take it to shuttysburg a million times, but I don't think they understand English.
- I haven't been able to watch my guilty pleasure shows on tv. I am missing one of my favorite shows: Big Brother. I will watch all the episodes on line sometime, but I just wish I was all caught up and could talk about it with my friends. Wahhhh
- We live across the street from a Burger King. "How is that a bad thing?", you say. Well, case in point: it is 10pm and I was hungry so I went and got some onion rings (luckily I talked myself out of an icee).
- In a nutshell: my house is a mess, I can't see Harry Potter tonight, my cats are evil, I can't read my friends blog about Big Brother and I am gonna get fat in no time flat.
- Feel sorry for me.
- Oh don't worry. My blog post about all the awesome stuff in my life (aka: completely opposite of this post) will be posted in the next week or so. Thanks for waiting!
- Peace, love and onion rings
Not all cats are evil. Awwww.

No, I am not dead
Hey everyone. I can't even describe how busy I have been (hence the non-bloggingness). Once life settles down a bit you will get to hear all about my Flordia trip, moving to Centreville, VA and my secret birthday weekend getaway (happening this weekend!).
So thanks for being patient. Believe me, its worth the wait.
I hope.
Love, peace and being so busy that people think you are dead. :)

It's my blog, so I will have a bunch of pictures of me if I want!
(click on the word and 20 seconds into that video and you will know what I am talking about)
My sissy and I would always say that to each other. Its freakin' funny. Anyway, here are the hap-haps, of my life:
- I love my new job in insurance
- I surprised my sissy in NYC for her 80's b-day party in March
- Then she came out here to visit with Manny and I cut off 12 inches of her hair
- Our friends invited us over for an awesome Easter/Brandon's b-day/Richards b-day celebration
- Our social calendar has been booked (that's a first. Brandon still claims I have no friends)
- We bought a house
- Brandon and Larson started an awesome business called D3mand (email me if you want more info about it)
- And I vacationed in Virginia Beach with my parents, sister and Brandon.
Wait...what? Can you repeat that?
Our Social calendar has been booked?
No, after that.
Larson and Brandon started a business?
No before that!
Oh, we bought a house.
You bought a house?
Why yes Ashley we did (Town house actually, put still cool cause we have a backyard and garage).
How cool is that?!? It's a pretty big place (for Northern Virginia) located in Centreville. So this is an invitation to anyone reading this (yes, I am talking to you, my five readers!)to come over and stay at our place! You better take me up on that offer k? If you are reading this then I probably miss your face.
Ok no more boring stories, on to what you came here to see...pictures!
80's party at my sisters house. I was going for Joan Jett. Only 2 people understood the look I was going for.
Like my stache? I put it on to make Shilo mad. She hates the ironic mustache more than anything. :$)
Shilo cut off her hair for locks of love. She got the thick hair gene...
Ok, my sister and I can dance and pose all day. I think I am playing the air trumpet? And Shilo is running in slow mo?
Hi-yah!
Shilo is doing kung foo and I am...well..I am being me.
I honestly don't know how I can make the most terrifying faces ever. Its a gift.
Rock Stars (Manny and Shilo)
I am sharing these picture with you because I love you. The one to the left is one of the most unflattering pics I have ever taken. But I laughed so hard that I had to share it with you...no matter the cost. So know this, reader, you are loved.
How do you do dear dolphin in a tux and a top hat. You aren't weird at all.
Ok, the next four pictures, are the funniest series of events ever caught on camera. Shilo had no idea a wave was coming while I was taking her picture. But I did...muah! ENJOY!
ANTM? Haha, if only.
Here is me doing the running man. You know how I do.
Dancing, what's new.
I put a spell on you...and now you're mine.
My favorite picture of Shilo. BEAUTIFUL!!!
Beach shot
Cool driveway. And by cool, I mean creepy (read on)
What's that? Oh nothing, just a chainsaw sitting in front of the old fort (which no one was at by the way. If we had been murdered, no one would know!)
Waiting for the ferry
Brandon wearing my glasses because it was soooooo bright!
Brandon likes to take pictures of me while I am scolding him for taking unflattering pictures of me.
"We'll kill ourselves an injun, or maybe two or three. For glory, God and gold and the Virginia Company!"
Princess Shilo. Obs.
"Stop!! I am naked!" haha- inside joke
That thing was really uncomfortable. You wouldn't have guess it. hmm.
Biggest wheel of cheese EVAHHH!
Award for funniest/most awkward family photo goes to the Mayers and a Robison:

Geez-o, peez-o.
Heavens to Betsy, this has been a crazy week. If you thought you knew what was going on in my life, you are sorely mistaken my friend. A lot has changed since last Friday. So hold on tight readers, you are in for a wild ride!
Ok, so last Friday was my last day working for the wonderful Robison family (our cousins who live out in McLean). I didn't quit because I didn't like it. I quit because I needed to find a full time job. I needed to find a full time job because A) Brandon is done with school earlier than expected which equals paying off student loans earlier than expected and B) Since we are living in student housing and B is no longer a student, we need a new place to live. So that is why I had to leave. :(
Ok, back to Friday. I had a dr appointment in the morning regarding those damn stones in my kidneys. Suddenly the word surgery was being thrown around and before I knew it, I had an appointment for the following Monday to "blast" one of my pesky stones. Wow. Then, on my way to the Robison's house I got a call asking if I would visit a school nearby my work because they were looking for a substitute teacher for the Preschool Autism class. I was SO excited. I immediately drove over there and met with their lovely teacher. Everything was going well. I knew that this is what I wanted to do (or so I thought).
Monday rolls around and I am nervous, hungry and thirsty (I had to fast before the surgery). I woke up with a terrible migraine and unfortunately couldn't take anything for it. So I went to the hospital, got an xray (the stubborn stone had not moved for over a month now) and on to pre-op. There I was welcomed by a group of lovely nurses who did a great job. The Dr doing the surgery came in and explained to me what would happen. Here are his words (paraphrased for the most part, but almost exact)
"Ok, so we are going to knock you out, then we will use shock wave therapy to break up the stone. It will feel like you are getting slapped 3,000 times in the same spot. You wont remember anything when you wake up but you will have a large bruise on your back, you will be nauseous for 2 days after the surgery and finally, you will be peeing blood. Oh, and this might not work and we might have to try it again.Ok, ready to go?!?"
Wow. Thanks for sugar coating that Dr! So there I was, laying in bed, and the next thing I remember I am waking up and surgery is done. Headache is still there but for the most part I feel fine. I get dressed and Brandon drives me home. I threw up in his car (in a bag, thank goodness). Had I not had a bag, I am pretty sure he would be seeing a lawyer right now and filing for divorce (you don't understand how anal he is about his car). So after vomiting in a bag I felt better. I went home, fell asleep and woke up the next morning feeling fine. A little sore, but fine. I am recovering quite well. But straining urine is probably one of the most annoying things ever, just so you know.
So this brings us to yesterday. I get a phone call from a staffing agency telling me about an interview I had a week or more ago. The agency hiring wanted me to join their team (full time and great pay). Fantastic. Now I have two WONDERFUL job opportunities and a sore back. Is this really happening?!?
I was super confused on which job to take. I know I would be happy with both, but they are so different and I didn't know which one was right for me and Brandon. So I prayed about it.
I am happy to report that I will be working in Insurance as an Administrative Assistant. The office is close by and there is room for growth. As much as I will miss working with autistic children, I know that this is where I need to be right now. Needless to say, this week has been a roller coaster ride. I am just glad it is over and I can coast from here on out.
Thanks for reading. Peace, love and insurance. Wait, what?
*Disclaimer: This is not a "poor me" blog so please don't take it that way. Also, I am very open, so if you think it is too much information, do not continue to read. kthanxbai.
Oh and one more thing. I am fully aware that I jump back and forth between present and past tense in this blog and I probably don't make sense. I am not an English major so get over it.
